A Thank You Letter

To my friends, colleagues, and partners,

As I think back through my life, I know there have been years of stress and tension. There have been years where my personal life was falling apart. There have been years with heated, court-contested Presidential elections. Like many of you, I well remember where I was on 9/11 and the months that followed. While outside my personal experience, I know our troops have lived with stress and tension of spending days and nights in harm’s way. I would argue, however, that 2020 was different.

In 2020, the stress and tension impacted every single person in our nation and even across the globe. The stress and tension were divisive, not unifying. Our emotional and personal needs were at odds with the scientific recommendations of our experts and even those recommendations were polarizing. The recommendations of our experts threatened our livelihoods as they tried to do what they thought best for our lives. In short, global pandemic became personal struggle, small or large, for 330 million people across our nation.

It is outside the scope of this letter, and indeed my ability, to offer thanks or give solace to every person who made a sacrifice or experienced loss this year. When something is just too big, start small-start personal. At IERUS, we believe in our mission – to play our small part, supporting programs large and small, doing our best to develop and provide the defenders of our nation with the capabilities and systems they need. We have had the challenge of meeting that mission while trying to keep everyone safe.

While many of our team have played their part, I want to take this specific moment to recognize those members of IERUS for whom meeting our mission meant going into work every day. I want to acknowledge and thank our teams who have resolutely faced down this pandemic on a daily basis, masked, six feet apart, and keeping the lines of communication open for their safety as well as the safety of their coworkers and families. They have gone into their workplaces, dealt with outbreaks, ever-changing policies, numerous safety measures, and quarantines, and simply gotten the job done.

With our feet now solidly planted in 2021, we continue to support the mission. I am grateful for the members of our team who continue to get the job done.

V/R,

Jason M Keen, PhD

IERUS Technologies Hosts Virtual Awards Ceremony for Team

Each year, IERUS holds an awards banquet for their employees to celebrate the team’s achievements. Due to the pandemic, they had to hold their banquet virtually. They hand out four awards every year:

  • Rookie of the Year Award
  • The Kettlebell Award– Presented to someone who demonstrated extra effort and dedication to ensure success for the customer
  • The You Know What You Did Award
  • The Open Pipe Award – IERUS’s highest technical honor

At the beginning of the banquet, IERUS’s Executive VP, Michael Roesch made sure to thank the employees for their hard work during this unprecedented year. He said, “It has been a very challenging year, but we certainly have some successes to look back on and celebrate…What you guys do every day is what makes IERUS special and so successful, so thank you.”

He also said, “This year has been extremely difficult juggling all the changes, but we are managing through it, and that is in large part because of how all of you have adapted, so thank you. We are extremely proud of what IERUS has become and are looking forward to another great year.”

Here’s a look at a couple of the team members during the virtual awards ceremony:

IERUS Technologies Treats Team to Socially-Distanced Dinners

Each year, IERUS Technologies hosts an awards ceremony to celebrate the team’s accomplishments. It’s an event that they look forward to hosting annually. However, with the ongoing pandemic making it unsafe to host their traditional banquet, the IERUS partners had to find another way to celebrate their team.

They decided to set up a socially-distanced drive-thru where employees could pick up dinner to take home and enjoy with their families. The four IERUS partners handed out hams, turkeys, and even had a vegetarian option. They also made sure to treat their remote employees to a nice meal, too.

Even in the midst of a pandemic, IERUS prioritized making sure their team felt rewarded for the work they did this year. Here are some photos of the team picking up their meals.

IERUS Technologies Appraised at CMMI Level 3

December 9, 2020 — After a year and a half of developing, executing, revising, and auditing our processes, IERUS Technologies has been appraised at level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)®. The appraisal was performed by ABI Consultants, LLC.

An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates IERUS Technologies is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods.

This certification is a recognition that, as a company, we are continuously looking for opportunities for improvement, and having the certification will allow us to bid on contracts where CMMI certification is a requirement. Additionally, it serves as evidence that our processes and business infrastructure are in place and mature.

“It was an important step, especially as we continue to grow, that our processes were codified, and we have a rigorous system to manage and continue improving IERUS.”

– Michael Roesch, Executive VP at IERUS Technologies

IERUS Delivers First Hardware Components for LTAMDS Program

December 2020 — Today, IERUS shipped its first hardware components for Raytheon Missiles & Defense for the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) program. The LTAMDS is a new, next-generation radar designed for the U.S. Army’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense system.

IERUS understands the importance of this capability for the Army and has made this program a priority. Even with the proper COVID precautions and protections in place, IERUS is delivering the hardware early to schedule.

Michael Roesch, Executive Vice President of IERUS Technologies

In October 2019, Raytheon Missiles & Defense was selected to produce the new Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor for the U.S. Army. To rapidly deploy this new technology, the company assembled a strong team of reliable suppliers, including IERUS Technologies. LTAMDS is a 360-degree, Active Electronically Scanned Array radar powered by Raytheon-manufactured Gallium Nitride, a substance that strengthens the radar signal and enhances its sensitivity.
